LOCATION: Santuary of our Lady of Prizidnica, Čiovo

Lady of Prizidnica is the sanctuary of Mother of God near small village Slatine on the island of Ciovo. The sanctuary and the church of Our Lady of Prizidnica emerged within the same desert, which was founded in the 16th century by Glagolitic polish priests. In the church is the center of devotion - the image of Mother of God with the Child (Our Lady of Blessed Mother). The image is preserved in the documents for the first time in 1750 in the official visit of the Archbishop of Split. This painting is a very valuable work of 14 centuriy from the famous painting school in Crete.

The island of Ciovo - is an island in Central Dalmatia with an area of ​​28.8 km². The island is hilly with the highest peak Rudine (209 m). In the northernmost part of the town is the southern part of the town of Trogir and the other settlements are Arbanija and Slatina on the northeastern coast, Zedno and Okrug Gornji and Donji on the west coast. Traces of ancient life, several valuable monuments (monastery of St. Cross on the northeastern coast, monastery of St. Anthony, church of Our Lady of Prizidnica on the south side, 2 km from Slatine).
